My First Socks

I finally finished them...I think I originally started back in March but it wasn't sucessful so I stored the project. Now that I am anticipating cooler weather I decided to give it another go. The cuff is my favorite part...I have to say the ribs are beautiful.
They are perfectly fitted to my foot. Which, I have to admit, was a problem getting the ankle over my heel. I burned some calories putting them on the first time.

Do you think I have a future being a foot model?

Oktoberfest

This was my first time going to Oktoberfest, and now I know what I missing. The food was my favorite thing!

Probably one of the best bratwursts I've ever had. I had the most delicious spicey mustard there too. My mouth is watering thinking about it again. I followed this up with with a Lizertorte...I ate it too fast to get a picture though.

Ashley chilling to the soothing sounds of German Volksmusik.

Riding the Snowbird Tram. I was obviously happy to be there.

Ashley didn't know it at the time, but she was getting a sunburn as she enjoyed the views from the top of Snowbird. She looks pretty though!

We couldn't have ordered a better backdrop for the alp horn concert on the top of the mountain. I kept closing my eyes and pretending that I was in the Swiss Alps.

Saddest Sight

When I walked out of Paradise Bakery, I was met with this sad sight. I think a moment of silence is in order.

Bungee Baby!

Everything "fell" into place for my bungee vacation this summer! I quit the job I hated, and somehow found that I had three days paid vacation to use up right before I started my new job (with an insurance company). Ashley and I got in my car early on a Wednesday morning and drove all day to Portland, OR where we slept like people that had been in the car all day.

Thursday we drove to Seattle. I love the Northwest...gorgeous! Friday we toured Seattle. We did an underground tour; loved it. We spent probably too much time at Pike's Place, and I had a lot of free cherries; hmmm. We chilled with the fish and wildlife at the aquarium for a pit and my faves were the little fish in the tide pools; so cute getting pushed around! Of course we did the Space Needle; I think Seattle was so pretty. We were lucky to get beautiful sunny days.

Finally, Saturday brought about the whole reason for going to WA...bungee jumping from the Pacific Northwest Bridge. You can watch on YouYube videos of people jumping off of that bridge. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I watched three people jump before me, and I'll admit that I had to pee, but when it was my turn I didn't hesitate. The bungee masters made sure my equipment was secure then they told me to climb over the side of the bridge. That was probably the hardest part, every part of my body was screaming for me to stay on the safe part of the bridge. As soon as they counted to three and yelled, "Jump!" I jumped!! Best thing I've done in a while!

Long freakin drive!
You've got to plan!
Beautiful glass sculptures in the ceiling of a bridge in Tacoma, WA

I know...I look like a professional

Little rag-doll Heather

Ready for another jump!
Again, you've got to admire the form!

I never stopped smiling.

If I wasn't okay, could I put up my thumbs? I think not.

Already planning the soonest moment I can go back.
